People from Spain speak Ethpanish with a Lithp.....

The lithp is mentioned in the book "Driving Over Lemons", although he refers to it as being specific to a region. It has also been mentioned that the Catalan speakers in the north don't like hearing their riders speaking a foreign language - meaning Spanish.

I like MM for his on the limit style, his bike control is insane..... his attitude .... well he's an entitled brat. How JL and MM handled the last few races of the year last year was a disgrace to racing. Since those 2 are the only Spanish riders left with a chance to win the Championship.

Gotta agree with this statement. I'm generally a Rossi fan and would love to see him get 10. And havent been a MM fan in the past.
But the way he held his head and handled things after being knocked of the track by Rossi last year and the way he had ridden and managed this season you gotta give the boy credit he's the best rider out there ATM.
Even if the rest of the races become predictable we have had one of the best seasons ever Dorna got it pretty well right with all these changes

They're all entitled brats. It comes from every one of tem believing beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are the best guy on the grid.

Anything less, they couldn't race at that level.

I'd have to agree (somewhat reluctantly), but I wonder how much of that has come about because of the 'power' he's been given by Dorna etc.

Yeah, they've certainly help build the legend. Pays well you know! But he was also born into it. Not so for MM etc etc.

Born into it? His dad was a GP racer. I think VR had to do a bit of work too.

You could level that charge at Roberts Snr & Jnr and the Gardener boys too. Looking through the three classes you find a lot of offspring of top level riders.

Likely the same number as did for Stroud and Crafer.
Both of which accepted lesser rider than a works Honda ride, for the opportunity to race in GPs and then break into a works team.
Which they both did, to differing levels of success.
Slight at least got to ride a NSR500 a few times.

Stroud was a bit player on a Harris framed YZR, Crafer at least did well enough on a superbike to get noticed. But either way...how many doors were opened for them, as compared to one who is born into GP's?

The Spanish riders have been racing pretty much since they could walk which is almost being born into it.

Gardner, Ajo, and Marini all have advantageous family connections, and there are several "sons of" in British circuit racing currently. Once the lights go out though it's all up to the rider, it doesn't matter what their name is.

Can't agree with you there mate. Starting out as soon as you can walk (Stoner, MM etc etc) is not *born into it* It's working incredibly hard from the get go to get where you want to. Rossi, Gardner etc etc have doors opened for them from the get go.

Thats interesting, any chance you could explain how opening doors make you a world champion ? Silly me thought that riding ability had something to do with it.

Show me where I said it did? But how many incredibly talented kids, will never get the chance to be world champion, as the doors don't get opened for them.
