Honda seem to be in real trouble.Marquez said that the hondas would be ok on fast tracks where accelleration is in the higher gears. At quatar there are some slower corners and the Hondas are no where...I think the championship may well be a battle between lorenzo ,rossi and......Vinales.THe non factory teams will well have lots of podiums this year

Only testing. But you missed out Andrea 1 and 2...

Those most likely to say "It's only testing" are the slower riders in the test.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

The Ducatis looking good, especially Scott Redding who finished second fastest and might not be saying "It's only testing".

Interesting results at Jerez too. Sam Lowes looking very good.

There was a funny little drama played out overnight bit by bit. I was going to explain it but David Emmett covered it so... Any factory paying millions to race should at least read the rules. Ducati got caught and got the attention, but it seems Yamaha slipped up as well.

It's good to see Redding enjoying being on the bike again after a couple of really hard years.

All I meant is you missed out the Ducati boys from your equation. Ducati have tested well and their bike seems to be functioning well at all test tracks. Ditto the Suzuki.

Not long to go now boys...

Not looking great for Honda though...

I'd like to see this group battling for second at Phillip Island...

    Iannone
    Vinales
    Marquez
    Redding
    Rossi

    Some history in that bunch

Yep 12 months of riding a peaky bitch of a bike designed for midgets took it's toll. If nothing else, at least he's having fun on the Duke.

Seems to have a lot of supporters in the paddock ?
He's quite big physically and looks radical with his style. yeah, I like him.

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.

So after their minor rules debacle Ducati have announced this morning that Stoner will test at Qatar on the Monday and Tuesday following the GP.
Weather permitting, that'll provide very similar conditions to what he would have had if he'd tested yesterday and today. The track should be clean and his results and feedback should be directly comparable to that of the factory riders.

He is still the youngest GP winner ever. The french spanish prophet was not able to take that away last year despite them changing the rules to give him a shot at it.

    Go Redding!

I'd say Dovi might end up losing his ride to Redding eventually. That's a wee way off yet but it looks like the Ducati suits his riding and size and he's loving it. Nothing faster than a riding that's buzzed about how good the bike feels.

It was thought that silly season would start early this year but it's off and running already.

The Motopod podcast reported that Lorenzo wants his new contract signed at Qatar.

They also commented that Pol Espagero wants a change, he apparently feels Yamaha have not kept their end of the deal. He is contracted to Yamaha, not to Tech 3 like Smith. It's hard to see him replacing Pedrosa, Rossi, or even his brother, so it would seem he's aiming for a Ducati ride.

He would seem to have burned his bridges with Yamaha, so that would make a Tech 3 seat available.

Good run down on motomatters about who might go where. I'm predicting no changes for the top 4 unless Maverick throws his hand out and says "Can I have a bike pleeaaassseee?".
His testing speed above Aleix has been fantastic, considering the Aleix has been the guy in the paddock going fastest on crappier bikes for the last 5 years, shows the kind of talent this chap is. Can't see MM happy with him as a #2 though, dummies would be spat !

Not long now guys, looking like I might have to shell out for a streaming pass this year, haven't yet found any torrents for WSBK Philip Island so worried the the GP will be the same.

Still got my fingers crossed that Dani will work out how to ride the bike better than the young hoon.

I had one downloaded within one hour of each race ending via https://kat.cr.

I am with you on Dani too.
