Saw one of these in the flesh at the Field days, the black with yellow wheels. Looks like it is coming to NZ.
It looks absolutely beastly with the front end. And by the sounds of it the price is going to be very good.
I was looking to get an MT-09 but this thing is just fantastic to look at. Maybe need a test ride.

All the big YT reviewers have had a test and all seem to love it.

All reports say it should be around the 20K mark.

I'm a happy chappie with my Z1000SX and can see me keeping it for another year or two easy. I'm mainly using it for commuting and some regular touring duties so it's spot on for what I need.

I can't think of any other 'reasonably' priced alternatives that catches my eye or suits my needs. But this MT10 seems to tick the same boxes that I like about the Zed. Just it's got more horses and maybe the looks work better in the flesh. The few pics I've found online with the panniers and higher screen look like they would do the job similar to the Zed. The MT10 bags do look a bit small though and are only cloth covered with zip closures only and I don't think the bags even 'lock' onto the bike. The Zeds are beaut, take 2 seconds to put them on or remove, fully integrated to bike with the ignition key locking them to frame and the lids.
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination

It is a shame more thought is not put into luggage on these types of bikes. Something integrated like the SX would be cool. Some of us like to carry stuff when we go to work etc.

That's awesome news. Great to see Yamaha price aggressively in line with the UK.

That's a shitload of bike for the money. I'm quite tempted to order one and deal with the fallout from the missus later.

Do it. It may take her a month to notice the different bike anyway!

I'm planning on keeping the CBR for track duty so I think having two bikes in the garage might give the game away a bit quicker haha

Apparently sales are strong, so there simply aren't enough...

KTM does similar every year. There is a shipment with x available. Once they're sold, that's it, you're waiting until a new shipment, normally the next year.

So they release a lot of hype about a new model, then only bring 5 into the country.

Least with KTM I can just go buy one, and BMW, and Aprilia.

And I bet they wont bother bringing in parts because there are only a few bikes here. No wonder Yamaha dont have a decent dealer up here.

Just what I was thinking - 5 a year - who would stock decent parts?

Still. Nice to ride something exclusive.

From the Yamaha dealer page now it sounds like more are coming in but not that many for this year. Will take a look at one tomorrow.

I think their is a good reason they are initially in short supply. Demand genuinely out strips supply. Bang for buck. Yamaha are betting on sales superiority to make their money, again. It's halcyon days for us. I own two elderly yammies and parts are not a problem. Consumables and, er, bent bits, for the MT10 won't be either.

If I was in the market for a Super Nekkid it would boil down to Tuono, S1000r, MT10. After test riding it would be Yam and Aprilia. After posting on here for a month and talking to the superior other it would be the Yam. Would I be disappointed? Nah, I'd be bricking it!
    Manopausal.
