Yep there is a bridge you can cross anytime you like (will have to carry the pushchair up and down though) and bring your own ear defenders ya cheap prick

Not bad for a day out with the kids.
I got to watch about 30 mins of racing for that.
Still OK, as the time wandering around looking at the machines themselves made up a lot for that.
We went home satisfied on the whole but a little bummed that large portions of our 1/2 day were spent unnecessarily.
At this point I still wanted to go again some time.

But then I tried to offer some constructive criticism.
That is where it went downhill.
Ear plugs / muff was just a suggestion about how more money was to be made. Don't need more money?
Crossing of the track? I never wanted to be able to cross at will, just to be told "the gates will be open at x times".

When I go to Nationals, Paeroa, car racing, other bike events this information is readily available.

We won't be coming this year.
Not because of the event last year, because of the reaction I got ( and continue to get ) for offering an opinion.

Enjoy your day elsewhere. We take the piss just as much in person too.

At the risk of having the piss ripped out of me, do you guys know if the racing is still on tomorrow? Or where do they publish a cancellation? Only asking cos I am supposed to come down to meet a mate from aussie there but the weather looks dodgy at this stage.

Not heard of it being cancelled yet, but taking extra biscuits just in case. If you bring choccie ones you can hang out with team BMW

Excellent Weekend, many thanks to those who organised and ran the event.
They don't get anywhere near the crowds that they used to.

    Sad but true.
I had to go looking to find out when it was on - general public doesn't do that.
Still a top weekend and a great event but.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

I thought the racing was fantastic, I have been attending for the last 15 or so years and the spectator crowds are certainly getting smaller. Lots of fine old bikes to drool over.

The weather played a large part in the numbers. It was pouring down in auckland on and off all day saturday but not at the track. Unfortunate!

Shit, I didn't realise it was only for aucklanders, I snuck in via Lower Hutt and they never asked me at the gate.. Maybe they noticed my car was an automatic and assumed I was a local?
they also had this thing called a covered grandstand there, if you were in there you may just have seen the one two minute drizzle come across on the sunday, between classes, and the shower during the practice session on saturday, but not felt any yourself.
