$600 for a mate with decent equipment doing a cashy, to 5k plus for show quality paint.

depends on the condition of the pieces being painted, how much repair and prep work required, what colour etc you want, metallic etc etc. lot of variables.

Lot of fairings to one of those by the looks too, so the cost will be higher.

From personal experience, if you're going to do it the skint way, you can save a lot of money by doing prep work yourself. But I wouldn't attempt a DIY metallic. Did it on my bike and it's turned out a bit average. Flat colour will be an easier option. You can still make it look nice by shooting clear and then wet sanding with 1500/2000 to get the gloss level even.

Keep in mind that if you want something durable, nothing compares to 2K. For 2K though you need it done by someone with the right gear.

The secret is in the prepration and you could save a lot doing it yourself.

Dream on. It's what painters hate as they only have to do it again.

Not worth over capitalising 2-3k on an old bike.

Unless you want to. I've been fortunate with a good mate as a painter, but the amount of time and effort required to do it properly is huge.

I find a job goes much quicker if you don't do it properly.

...one colour is about ten bucks but if you want a couple of colours that will be about twenty one bucks if you get the one dollar roll of masking tape from Bunnings...if you want to be a tri-colour affair, add another ten bucks...that was the approximate cost of my last paint job...I got the spray cans from Bunnings also...it saved on travel costs...
