Yeh, didn't get that into it tbh, similar with evil dead. However, Death Valley was a series I really got into and would recommend.

I read on reddit some time ago that some nerd had done the maths on a zombie apocalypse (well, duh) and given a 97 % infection rate, and some other variables then he reckoned the population of zombies would be reduced to nil in ~5 years I think it was.

I've always thought that the issue wasnt really defeating the zombie horde (once I had assumed power and organised it) but what do you do with the carcasses? the stinking, infected, rotting godawful mess that is in your water and on your land and everywhere. That to me seemed to be the bigger job.... the cleanup.

Black Tide Rising springs to mind, it is an excellent book series. I think theirs was 99+% infection rate, took to the seas for the initial infection stages (obviously large groups of people is a bad idea), used carrion beetles to clear up most of the dead mess on the boats they liberated, then just pitch the skeletons over the sides. The also used cargo containers with big mincers in them, which attract zombies with noise, then chew em up and output to the sea.
