Hello from Christchurch (darksoulnz)
Gday guys and girls, My names Karl and I have just started riding, well on the road. Have a bit more experience dirt riding, own a 96 RM125. Still a complete noob though!
Just bought my first road bike, 88 Yamaha FZR250, 2KR so doesn't have the alloy frame but still very happy with it! considering how much I paid haha.
Have never had so much fun in my entire life!! Wish I had got into it sooner. When I got the bike it wasn't running 100%, the previous owner and bike shop it was at described it as being carb issues which by the sounds of it was a fairly typical problem for the FZR. After a bit of testing, turned out to be the Voltage Rectifier, 2 of the diodes were stuffed in it. So have purchased a new one in Japan from Yamaha and a second ahnd one here in NZ jsut to get it going. Now to sort license!
Also got 2 project cars, one is still on the way from the U.S, Datsun 260z 2 seater and the other is a 80s N12 Turbo pulsar.
I look forward to going to meets and riding with local guys!
