    "L-Plate Rider" (DonKiwi)

Hi, All. I just signed up to this Group in order to post a question. I notice the varied status notes after members' names and note that I have been assigned "L-Plate Rider" status, possibly by default.
I was initially somewhat miffed, since I am well past the age where I would be limited to "Junior" membership of the Ulysses brethren.
Also, I recall passing my motorcycle riding test in 1968 by being required to "stay with" the (Maori) Traffic Officer on his Triumph Trophy over one lap of the official Test Circuit [Grange Rd. Traffic Dept. ~ Dominion Rd. ~ Balmoral Rd. ~ Mt Eden Rd. ~ Home].
We may well have both exceeded the speed limit but "he had the only speedometer, your Honour". The Cop seemed impressed by my clutch-less racing gear-changes on my Army-Indian (well; he was cheating, with his foot-change) and I probably scored sensible-rider points by not trying to overtake him.
In my attempt to investigate how I might find a more descriptive appellation, I see that I am also described as an "Unknown Quantity at this stage". This is a major improvement of personal mana! I will leave it at that and defer my attempt to change it to "Old Indian Fighter" (from a W.C. Fields movie. Bert Munro knew what he meant.) and allow my current ownership of a 1986 Honda CT110 step-through to encrypt my image.

Actually, you have more fun on a small bike than on a big one, as with boats!

My bike still really wants the Kiwi-on-a-Postiebike" decal, too! Where can I get them?

    Cheers.

It is possible ... apparently ...

But your L-plate status here will change as your activity on this site goes on.

I think at 325 posts ... you achieve senior member status ... and can change it to suit yourself as I ... and many others have.
