just visited shaun an hour ago (monday) and over the weekend they have started getting him to drink again, half a cup of coffee is enough, but that's more than he's had since january. I visit him regularly and it's the small physical things i see his brain unlocking the path to let him do it again that are an inspiration. over time we all hope that those little unlocks will move to his memory and let him recognise people he knows, and learn people he doesn't . Today he denied ever having won a TT, he did say he'd ridden there on the Britten though. several months ago i told him two out of his three wins and stalled on the third one, he knew it then.

He's a tough Old Goat. If anyone will make it home, it's he. Best of luck Shaun.

I was hoping for news but not that particular news. Here's hoping he can surprise the doctors again.

Is it physical mobility stopping him from going home or brain /mental issues? Either way pretty sad. Especially when you don't recognise your own family.

i see shaun regularly, it's short term memory, he doesn't have any, physically he's good, he's started eating again, the brain has reinstalled the swallowing action, this has made a big step in his wellbeing as he can now enjoy food instead of it being dripped into him.
without the short term memory he won't be able to do normal things, or he'll do them ten times cause he's forgotten what he's just done.
