But then again i had never seen a 124 sedan until I googled it now

Either way the 125 is a far better vehicle
The 124 was produced as a saloon, station wagon, coupé and spider. The original Lada was based on the FIAT 124 and this is acknowledged in the FIAT museum in Torino

...little square euro 70's shit...I had a spate of owning them...Renaults mainly...the 16 felt just what it looked like, an upside down dinghy, I had a couple of those... the 10 was the most exciting car I have driven, I still think about it 30 years after the fact...but then the 2CV is right up there on my scale...not to forget the Morrie Thou...

Ford adopted the multi-model scowling face for the last of the FGs. It's a look that's made Ford cars an acquired taste at best.

I dunno, I think it's relatively nice... they did have the Taurus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_T...rd_generation)

I had a Lada once in the north of Scotland. A great winter hack that always started on the button no matter how cold. Sadly died early after impacting a fallen tree, the lights were shit.

Still, seems like others like them too - http://www.bbc.com/news/business-39489527

They're along similar lines to the bluebird of the same era, sort of looked like they'd been parked in the hot sun for too long and started melting

Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

The Ka was the ultimate Ford "New Edge" vehicle. Big opposing curves meeting at sharp corners. It included the usual suspects, Focus, Mondeo, and even the AU Falcon which has to be the ugliest Falcon shape ever. Like the current model scowly face cars, the New Edge cars were an acquired taste - one which I never acquired.

The Bluebird was never that ugly.
