Dunno... might just gave to pull up a seat and admire the damn thing at least that long before even lifting a spanner.

If it was I'd have done it! The 3 hours was from the mechanic at Cyclespot who fitted them to one of the other bikes. And he wasn't looking for business. Into day three now 130km on the clock, body going through a painful transformation period - local physio must be rubbing his hands together. Got rained on yesterday so can't be accused of being a sunny Sunday only rider! Going to get some of the shiny bits vinyl wrapped this week before they start to scratch up.

Just got a call from the dealer. They started up the first bike with the megaphones last night. At a modest 3,000rpm the bike could easily be heard several streets away. At 8,000rpm windows would break, etc. But going to ride up this afternoon (in the rain) to get a listen.

Best kind... No demo bikes in any case. 250km now and feeling pretty comfortable.

Shot a quick vid with the megaphones on. About what I expected, liked them alot but you'd get way too much attention. Fine up to about 3k, painful at 4k which is as far as they took it.

In regard to fitting, turns out I could've pulled the old ones and just hung the megaphones to get a listen. But was a good excuse to get a few more k's knocked off.

    Yeah. Ridiculously loud.

With a bike that gorgeous you don't need to be a twat about it.

Congatulations, it's an awesome looking (and sounding) bike. I look forward to seeing you out there sometime although I doubt that my bike will be able to keep up

Silly loud. Is there any 'muffling' in the pipe?

Tell you what would suit is the Spark muffler - be a lot quieter and has a removable db killer. Need to be custom fitted with a link of some type most likely.

Almost got a couple to custom fit to my Ducati but then the dealer had a Xmas special on Termis with the Ducati performance ECU ......

No baffles just straight through. I had thought of going to Custom chambers in East Tamaki and getting another set made up. He's already done a 2 into 1 for a Commando.

I like the pair of mufflers. Did the megaphones come with the bike as race options? Custom Chambers would be able to make a noise reducer for the ends.

Bloody nice bike - hows it ride? No doubt very smile producing.

Don't think KB had a decent thread since 2008. Very nice bike!

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I'm doing my best to keep this thread interesting. Does anyone know if Norton still uses Lucas for electrics?

Just wondering as I sit here in the boonies somewhere on SH22, without a functioning fuel pump or starter motor. It would explain a lot...

[QUOTE=AllanB;1130941688]Very nice. Two fingers to Triumph aye.

That would depend at least in part on PRICE - how muchee to get two fingers worth over Bloor? I may wait to see the NZ shipment of 1200cc Thruxtons...before giving anyone the fingers.
