    Norton Dominator SS

Just picked her up today. First one on the road in NZ of four allocated. Feeling the love.

Megaphones are apparently insanely loud (which are included), so have left the stock pipes on till I hear one of the other bikes.

With the stock pipes, not as bad in the flesh as I thought they may be.

I've listened to the first 20secs of this vid 100 times.

Apparently that's not close to real world. Next bike is being assembled with them and I've have asked to be there for 'first noise'.

Very nice. Two fingers to Triumph aye.

Hmmm maybe I'll pull the db killers out of my Termis or chop them down further to the current modification I have done ....

Because it's at least a 3 hour job. Pegs move back, new gear and brake linkage etc. Here's the packing list. Everyone has warned me they are beyond 'Harley' loud. I asked the factory direct and got this back...

With regards to the noise, i think you might be surprised at how loud they actually are ! If memory serves me right i think we measured north of 130db when we first fitted the Megaphone style exhaust.

Norton told me they're possibly bringing out db killers with a new engine map. So I'll probably wait a few months and see if anything eventuates. Norton has recently bought out an in between set which are apparently about right in the noise stakes, but weren't available when my bike shipped. I still prefer a tamed version of the megaphones.

Here's a regular Dominator with them fitted.

    130db is ear splitting!

A decent exhaust fabricator would be able to make up some tidy db killers that will knock it back to a rowdy hundy .......
