    2001 Ducati M400 Help

Hey everyone, brand new rider here as of last week.

I purchased a 2001 Ducati M400 and i'm already having some bad luck with it. On the way home today I noticed my right leg getting really warm, looked down and noticed I was covered in oil. Got home and found the Oil filler cap had either been pinched or come loose (seems really unlikely that it would unwind and come off). Got the bike home and it's still full of oil however obviously I can't ride it till I get a new cap.

I have emailed a few wreckers etc however I was hoping someone could direct me to the best place in getting a new cap. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

ebay have aftermarket ones. Will take about a week to turn up though.

Thread will match other bikes probably - wreckers will have something to fit no doubt.

You can always duct tape over it until the replacement arrives...

hang on - try Fastbikegear.co.nz - they like Ducatis and stock goodies. Good bugger to deal with too.

And they make gaskets from cork!

E-bay for a $20 one and it will be here in 10 days. Cork, duct-tape or severed thumb as a short term fix.
