Not sure of the total distance (but it's well over 100kms) but you'll need to be road registered, esp. since the Dunstan Road is in two part with a decent (15-20km?) road section in the middle and a ride from Moa Creek to the Rally site at the far end.

Plenty of off-road (only) bikes go to the rally. Most travel from Clarks Junction ... and a police escort will be provided from Ida Valley Back Road at its intersection with Ida Valley - Omakau Road, continually, from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday. The route from Moa Creek to Ida Valley Back Road will be marked with fluoro arrows.
