They told her she wouldn't make partner, she would leave to have kids. And she did. None of it was my decision.

What I meant was that you were saying that her employer was right, because she fulfilled their prophecy of her leaving to end up having a kid. Would she have had a different perspective on kids if she had have been made partner? Her vagina took a beating, but I'm pretty sure her brain was functioning fine and could be of use? If it was of use in the first place. I agree, highly sexist.

Not if you want to look after your own kids - they pay them well but expect their pound of flesh. If they tell you on Monday afternoon they need you to say at work for the next two days then that's what your expected to do. They had beds and showers at the office, gophers to get you clean clothes and food. That's the price for the pay check. It's not the sort of industry that will let you do "flexitime" and in some ways would it be fair that other co- workers (female or male) would be the ones that had to stay and work into the wee hours while she buggered off at 3pm to pick the kids up from school?

Those sexist bastards did your sister a big favour.

For every woman that becomes some professional means there's one less man available for a woman to get into a relationship with and have kids.

So in essence women are shooting themselves in the foot.

Bah. Hardly. Tis all life decisions. My sister pulls six figures (her partner can't be far off either) and manages to also have a farkin sweet family life. It's not so black and white, some people (men and woman) are just useless and or make the wrong choices for where they want to be in life, imo.

The funny thing about Yokel posting Karen Staughn (I quite like Karen's work btw) is that she is a Single Mother.

Who knows, maybe she didn't want to end up being a single mother?

and I fail to see how her being a single mother changes what she's saying.

or am I meant to disagree with her solely because she's a single mother?

What do you do when someone you don't really like (eg karen straughan being male attention whore) says something you agree with?

I've no doubt that it's a hard game that requires dedication. I'm surprised people even bother.

The stats show Single dads are better than single mum parents.

men are generally better parents, because they do the fathering.

Not at all, I take exception to how the dynamics between the male and female relationship as been shit on.
It is what got us to this point, now we've thrown it under the bus.
Guess what's going to happen next?
