    Login info

Is there anywhere in my settings that I can find out a history of when I've been logged on?

All that info will be in the db. IIRC there used to be something in user profile but haven't seen it in a long time. If you know of a moderator who is friendly they should be able to extract a list of ips but it would be up to you to do a geolocation lookup.
Www.maxmind.com and www.ip2location.com come to mind.

These login lists must exist as tsbles in the db because they do check for dual accounts etc. The trick will be finding a moderator willing and knowledgeable enough to extract a useable list.

Why do you want to know?

I've just had a couple of my email addys hacked (no IP info given, but I have the towns) and was wondering if they had tried my KB account too... or at least if there was potential evidence of me not having logged on from my home address.

    Meh.

If you can get hold of one of the sent emails the meta should have the origin ip address. Unlike Hollywood this won't tell you much unless your hacker is sitting behind a fixed ip address at a company that publishes their gateway.

It would tell you if the hacker was another user of your pc at least... or even a virus on your pc..

I would have thought that that would only happen on a certain number of login attempts?

Google how to get the meta data from an email.
Unless the ip address is masked you should see one for the sending device.

I've no doubt that if anyone really wants to crack something, they'll crack 'em... and when I changed my addy passwords it reset the account history . Meh... I've better things to do with my time. But cheers for the info

So some or all of that drivel you've apparently posted may not have been you? They're doing a bloody good impression if that's the case.

I have heard tell of someone else whos KB account was hacked a while ago...

Agree Not really worth the effort for KB.....A hacker would have to work far too hard to soil a reputation down to the moral level of some users on here lol.

    Primary reasons to hack KB?
Mischief - really just want to annoy you, probably someone who uses a device you did not log out of.
Spam. - Either to get your address list or to alias you.
To find out more about a target so as to hack other accounts, this is why you don't use the same password on multiple logins.

Use Private Browsing/Incognito/etc for EVERYTHING that requires a login

Reasons to steal your KB login - they're idiots.
Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem
