Entry forms are now available at http://www.hamiltonmcc.org.nz/ . Due to the shift to Taupo we have been able to reduce entry fees to $130.00 for club members, $150.00 non members. If you are are under 23 & entering Junior Race entry is half price ie $65.00 or $75.00.

    Walls

I don't understand the issue with the walls at Pukie. Hampton has a great big wall all the way on your left at the fastest part of the track, going in to 6 ain't too clever either. Ask Stroudy, he threw his bike over the wall there (brake failure admittedly, but it happens). Exiting turn three, great big wall, also out of 5.

Taupo isn't off the hook either: Last turn coming on to the start finish, solid wall, perpendicular to path of track vehicles. Get the last chicane wrong and you're arguing with a wall end on.

Don't get me wrong, I really like all these tracks. Have ridden them all many times. I just don't get the rep Pukie gets. I wish it was still an option for meetings.
Do us all a favour, by bringing yourself up to speed, before pulling onto the motorway.

Totally agree. I've raced on all of these tracks myself many times too and certainly don't have an issue with the changes made at Puke. I was asked what I thought of the "walls" after my first practice session at last years Classic Festival...my answer was "what walls, didn't see any on my race lines".
I really don't get MNZ's opposition to Puke, especially when they sanction the likes of Paeroa (and I've raced there from the very first event and probably more than most) when it's potentially a way worse proposition. Yep, sure there's always going to be things to hit if you're unfortunate enough to have an off but if you don't like the prospect you shouldn't be there in the first place. Having said that I've more than once looked at that wall at Taupo and thought....oooohhhh don't like the look of that. I'm racing there this weekend though and it won't stop me from riding to my limit.

Weather forecast is looking great fine and a high in the low 20's for the weekend, normal entries have closed but if you haven't don't panic. Get your entry in by Thursday and we will waive the late entry fee. Entries will be taken on the day but incur a late fee as it adds a whole level of stress on the organisers! http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Raci...-Forecast.aspx

    Meeting Report
Round 1 - 2016 HMCC Putoline Winter Series
Sunday May 8th Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park
    Taupo
On a Foggy, Cool, Cloudy but Fine Sunday, these were the condition’s that greeted riders and teams at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park for Round 1 of the HMCC Putoline Winter Series.
The racing across all the Classes was Fantastic, it didn’t matter if it was the front runners battling for the lead or in the middle of the pack, the racing was good, clean and hard.
Right from Race 1, the Boyd Motorcycles Supermoto Race set the scene, for the rest of the day with plenty of battling going on through the field. Craig Scott #62(Honda CRF450) enjoying the day taking out 3 race wins on the day and Chris Andrews #4(KTM) and Hamish Boyd #45(Yamaha) battling out for the remaining podium positions.
Following the Supermoto’s on the day was the Putoline Oils Senior Races, consisting of Superbikes and 600 Supersports the racing was brilliant, on the ‘shorter track’ the 600’s were able to battle with the bigger Superbikes often Out-Braking the bigger bikes, this was shown from the word go when Damon Rees took off and lead the Bigger Bikes away from Jay Lawrence, Dillon Telford and brother Mitch Rees, it took a few laps for Telford on his ‘Red Devil Racing’ Aprilia to get past Rees but when he finally did the bigger bike got away from Damon’s 600 and Mitch’s CBR1000 and this was Telford’s first Win of 3 for the Day.
Next up were the NV Motorcycles Combined Classic/Post Classic Races, Now this made for some Fantastic racing with a few of the ‘Postie Boy’s’ arriving to the Dummy Grid a bit late and had to start from ‘Pit Lane’, So with Glenn Eggleton, Gian Louie, S J Cavell and others sitting in pit lane this allowed Mark Hatton and Peter Smith to take off and battle for the lead which they did, Hatton lead for most of the race until Smith passed him inside turn 1 with only a lap remaining, but in the meantime Eggleton was slicing his way through the field too 3rd place, there was good racing in their next two races with Eggleton making it to the grid to take wins in the next 2 races.
The Honda Hamilton Clubmans provided plenty of entertainment throughout the day with #23 Jordan Burley(Triumph) having a good day with 2 wins and a second placing from #9 Mike Dawes getting two 3rds and a second with #42 Gary Morgan and #76 Wayne Oran(Kawasaki) grabbing a Win in Race 2 for the Class.
The Bridgestone Intermediate Races provided some interesting racing but the Class was dominated throughout the day by #97 Nathan Jane(3 Wins), #89 Josh Augustine(Suzuki) 3 2nd Placing’s and Eddie Kattenburg(Kawasaki) 3 3rd placings
The Shoei Junior Class was the final Class to race at the meeting, Jacob Stroud got himself 3 Wins for the day on his Hyosung X4R, but didn’t have it all his own way and had to race hard with #79 Leon Jacobs and #84 Shayne Lawrey(KTM) both leading races through the day until Jacob came through for the Wins.

Long range forecast is looking great for track and race days. Don't forget to get your entries in by next Sunday to be in the draw to win a Shoei helmet. The sign on team have told me off for being a little lenient with late fees so get those entries in.
