" Rule books are for the Guidance of the Wise, and the Obedience of Fools"
You missed the quote at the end:
Grab a beer from the galley and enjoy the ride down the emergency evacuation slide.
No different to tourists coming to this country thinking that they can drive in a real NZ environment.![]()
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....
In saying that, watch this vid on you tube. Guy who never flew a plane before accepts a challenge to learn to fly a real 737 in 1 month.
Possible if you put your mind to it. Not in English, but offers subtitles. Pretty good viewing me thinks

Ive seen and know plenty of Kiwi drivers who cant drive in a "Real Nz environment" even though they grew up and learnt to drive here.
If you take the total number of tourists that come here and drive and compare that to how many crashes that happen that are their fault you may find its just not that many per year.
If the media reported EVERY crash that happens with kiwis at fault like they do when a tourist does then compared that number with our total driver population per year Im guessing it would make for a pretty sad read of bad driving on our part.
But hey there bandwagon riding sheeple.....
Just keep believing that media spin that sells papers and gets you watching the news and has people following and filming rental cars acting all shocked and angry waiting for the chance to snatch those keys like a fucking hero.
Now back on the OP topic aye....
I wonder how many terrorists have seen this video could be a good learning tool if you just replaced "Land" with "Crash into you intended pork eating infidels target" lol.![]()

I was curious as to what the odds would be of someone having watched this video, being on the rare flight when both pilots kark it at the same time, and is able to access the cockpit and take over the controls.Tom Cruise or Bruce Willis are the only two that come to mind.

You would actually be surprised (in the real world). Not that many on the comercial jets, but plenty in small GA aircraft. It happens more then you think. As for bigger jets, I have heard of 3 in the last 12 months, where one pilot has became unconcious or has actually died at the controlls, and the other pilot has called for help from one of the pax (who was actually a pilot in the Airforce) to help manage the work load in the cockpit. There are not that many cases where both pilots would be out of action on a big commercial jet.
