    Gp 2016

We finally have the permit approved for the GP.
Keep an eye on the MNZ site for entry forms if you need to upgrade your licence, if they hit it up I'll post a link, if they don't get it done in the next couple of days we'll post it somewhere.

Please if you need the licence upgrade get onto it as soon as you can, we need to get the names to MNZ so that's can get us the approvals.

I know it's a bastard to be pushing people at such short notice but unfortunately we haven't had a lot of choice.

Due to the GP being classified as a National Title a Championship Licence is required (the expensive one). A large portion of the field will only hold a Club Licence because that is all we require for every other bucket race meet in NZ.

However a few of our good bastards got a rule change through that allows the Club Licence to be upgraded to the Championship Licence (for a fee) for a single event every year. Conditions attached to the upgrade can be found here https://www.mnz.co.nz/licenses/national-licences

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

As Pumba said, you need a full licence for the GPs, Formula Tokoroa, the B grade / sandbaggers race for those who can't be bothered can be done on either a club licence or a day licence.

No trophies for Toke cup this year 😄

From the look of last years schedule there was the Tokoroa cup followed immediately by the sidecar race.

Any chance of having a break or practice session between Toke and sidecars this year for those of us doing both?

All good. It says there were some Toke races on Saturday but I take it it's all just practice on Sat and Sidecars.

Here is a great time to stick it to the mnz. As long as the majority of entrants can live with the GP not being a national title (it's just a label) run the event as a club meet and avoid quite a bit of paper work and money collecting on behalf of the mnz who does fuck all for the class. The event would be the same, the winners would be the same and it might get the mnz's attention enough to actually do something useful for the class starting by a proper look at the way they arbitrarily adjust (ie fuck up) the class rules.

As much as it sounds awful, there is a lot of merit in that.

There is such a different atmosphere between the North Island Series and the GP.

    Food for thought.
