WHY? The new surface northbound from Ellerslie/Penrose is like a bit of a rollercoaster...nice new black tarmac, but the middle lane just sloshes up my latte

Apparently, since the 60s, both front and rear are to be Amber in most countries now but not the US and Canada. US lawmakers believe that amber adds no benefit nor visual improvement on red rear indication. What was crazy is you could still make cars with trafficators (those pop up indicator flags on the sides of the car) until the early 60s.

    Why?
Why can't they just change it to a sensible "indicators must be amber"?

I've got three cars with red indicators, I see heaps of others too.

Never had thought there could be an issue with them being red.

What I DO have an issue with is:
Why do dumb-arse manufacturers that insist in putting the indicater about 50mm from the brake-light and in the same cluster thereby frequently rendering said indicator indistinguishable from the brake-light.

Likewise up front beside the head-light, can't see the indicator in certain circumstances....

I see that VW have perpetuated the "nipple-styel" that Ford had in the 60s...

Agree - saw something the other day that had the front indicator so well hidden it could just be seen if in front of the vehicle - was a wally-trolley, but what sort no idea...

Why do road warning signs reflect so much light at night that it is almost necessary to have another road warning sign warning you that the road warning signs may cause blindness at night time.
