    Let the debate begin....
There are a couple of theories. The one I subscribe to most us it down to a safety margin perception. The driver will feel a bit hemmed in on single lanes and sit at a lower speed. Then when the road opens up a bit they feel safe to speed up.

There are probably a few people about who think they have a right to be in front of you, so don't let you pass. But they are surely a minority.

Jeez Drew, that was very philosophical of you....didn't see that coming

I see another angle to it. That which says those that do this just don't think of other road users.....cynical?...yes probably.

No doubt they're not thinking of other road users, but the perceived intent just isn't there.

No. Its an indication of priorities .. ours do not match yours

Ours do not include a neat and tidy aesthetically pleasing front lawn ..

    But seriously ...

Q How do you tell a rich man in Otara?

A There are two broken cars on his front lawn ..

Or what happened to us o the way back from Hamilton .. slow Truck moves into area with passing lane .. a few cars pull out to pass .. all the bikes pull out - just before the top a car moves out into the passing lane (right in front of us - dumb shit) BUT doesn't speed up - gets besides the truck and SLOWS DOWN blocking us from passing the truck ..

BASTARD (He got the universal flicks of the wrist sign of disapproval as I flicked the bike between the car and the truck .. just to let him know .. )

It amazes me how many drivers do not understand that to pass another vehicle travelling in the same direction you have to go faster than the vehicle you are passing.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

The driver in front was exercising his citizens arrest type powers to control other road users as he saw fit to protect them from themselves! ( wannabe!)

God bless our upright volunteer citizen Samaritans!

Not only has he got a nice front lawn....he has a man come in and do it

I doubt if you can get a house in Otara for under 400K now, they will be selling up soon and moving to the country...edit BOP

Saw a cool video yesterday, of a dude doing jumps and all sorts of cool stuff on a big adventure bike.

But most seem to think that a gravel road is an adventure.

    Edit.

I've done the forgotten highway two up on an FZR 750, it's not what I'd call an adventure.

Why do Triumph make a big old tech commuter bike and call it the Speedmaster?

Agreed, seen an Africa twin vid that was quite good. But a gravel road is not dirt. I can do that on me old Bandit.
