    93 KX250 rebuild

Hi all been lurking around here for a while been away from bikes for a while decided to get into another project.
I picked up this 93 KX250 in pretty rough condition but complete and runs ok, decided a full strip down was in order.

Picked it up after work on wednesday and by 8pm was a pile of bits all over the shed, had the frame and a few other bits sand/media blasted today ready for some welding repairs and powder coating next week.
Will get pics up as i progress thru the rebuild, also if anyones still reading by now im looking for a few parts like side number board plastics and fork guards

Sent the frame off to the powder coaters on friday, stripped the wheels to find a cracked rear rim, oh well just an excuse for new rims and stainless spokes. Pulled the motor down today as i had no idea how long since its been rebuilt, found a few rough bearings and a collapsed bearing on the powervalve shaft otherwise all in good condition so will be ordering parts soon for the rebuild

It aint a cheap process just spent 700 on engine parts for the rebuild and still need the bearing for the gearbox and wheels. Gonna have a go at lacing rims soon, brought a new set as i found mine were cracked so will be getting the hubs powdercoated , talking to a guy i work with will be able to race vmx classes he has a 92 kx250 and a 93 kx125 he races

Wanting to buy some early 90s - blue if it counts for anything - Kayaba forks (kx125 but I believe they are more or less all the same 125-500), condition immaterial as long as the top caps and damping adjusters are ok.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

I have a 92 KX250 Frame (powdercoated black), rear shock, Swingarm, Triple clamps, tank, good condition seat and i think it has a couple of the plastics on it.

If anyone wants want they can have it for free as it is taking up space at home and will end up being thrown out it.

    Pm me if your interested.
