I see also that his appointee to the EPA is following the Trump line on global warning - "it's all a hoax" - and is denying the science.
The question now is whether the Paris accord will fall over - even China is looking to sort out it's pollution, FFS.
I would also assume that places like Canada, Oz and us can expect another wave of US scientist immigrants...
His effect on the US scientific community is very similar to the exodus from Germany prior to WW2.

Simply by association it would appear he's a dodgy character and there's a plan b hidden somewhere up his sleeve.

It has been reported, it has been on radio or TV here and I've seen an article on the guns. I thought they might have been 155mm "Long Toms" but although these look similar they can fire a GPS guided shell some 25 miles.

I hope his foray into Syria is vastly more organised than his fuck-up in Yemen.

Conspiracy theorists need not bother reading that article - it's too long.

The papers here will be scared to say too much about him. He has put one news organisation out of business by bankrolling other people's law suits against it.
Gawker outed him as gay after he told them not to. He said he would destroy them and he did.

Four articles by the Herald is quite a good amount of information.

The Herald could have four articles on anything and nobody would be any the wiser. I will see what they had to say.

Cool, it's always good to read up before you comment.

There's info in stuff about him as well plus the National Business Review.

    .

I had read some local reports but hadn't read anything other than some questions about his "unusual" citizenship process. I had another look but found nowt new.
Years ago the NZ Herald was described as one of the great papers of the Commonwealth. Those days are long gone.

Decades ago now I subscribed to the NBR but it's behind a paywall now. Paywalls are becoming increasingly common and for some time I have been considering which papers/magazines I will subscribe to. So far no NZ publications make the necessarily short list even though I'm aware that local news coverage is a bulwark against corruption. The presence of a reporter at council meetings prevents a lot of dodgy deals taking place. If they go...

Thiel is an interesting guy, he's super bright, and it seems there is a nasty streak. His political motivation remains a mystery. Still, I don't expect to be visiting him in his fall out shelter at Wanaka.

I've seen the NZ Herald described as "Granny Herald" about 20 years ago with its center-right political stance however, since its change of ownership in 1996, it's moved on.

Interestingly enough, the NBR article on Peter Thiel isn't behind a pay wall: https://www.nbr.co.nz/article/thiel-...-dia-ck-198782

    Big brother(CIA) is watching.

simple question, why did the Soviets modify a air-raid shelter into a gas chamber? what was their intention?

This spying is a cover for bigger spending on surveillance

Oh we need to update our computers, it will cost billions but we need to because of the hacking, Russians , fijian liberation front

I see on the 6 O'clock News ( too busy doing house DIY and fixing old bikes to seek out real news) that there is a humanitarian disaster unfolding in Yemen , 14 million. perhaps the Headchoppers might like to contribute or their arms suppliers the Brits and Yanks.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
