Dulles was a master of realpolitik - he would work with and co-opt anyone who could assist in the fight against Russia.

Pense is now described as an Evangelical Christian - ie from what i can see, even further into dogma and repression than the Catholic Church.
From what i've read he thinks the current Pope is pretty much a Commie...

Listen, even to pences discription of himself
    Straight out of Vatican 2

Wether Trump knows who are pulling the strings , I don't know

I suspect he has just realized

Whatcha that New York dinner where he roasted Hilary..

The audience booed him. At that point I think he " may" have been his own man

    Not so sure now

But first 100 days then we will see

    Trumps tweets
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"
"Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!"
"I'd bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!"
"How low has President Obama gone to tapp [sic] my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!"

Carlson: So on March 4th, 6:35 in the morning, you’re down in Florida, and you tweet, the former administration wiretapped me, surveilled me, at Trump Tower during the last election. How did you find out? You said, I just found out. How did you learn that?

Trump: Well, I’ve been reading about things. I read in, I think it was Jan. 20th, a New York Times article where they were talking about wiretapping. There was an article. I think they used that exact term. I read other things. I watched your friend Bret Baier the day previous where he was talking about certain very complex sets of things happening, and wiretapping. I said, wait a minute, there’s a lot of wiretapping being talked about. I’ve been seeing a lot of things. Now, for the most part, I’m not going to discuss it, because we have it before the committee and we will be submitting things before the committee very soon that hasn’t been submitted as of yet. But it’s potentially a very serious situation.

Carlson: Why not wait to tweet about it until you can prove it? Don’t you devalue your words when you can’t provide evidence?

Trump: Well, because the New York Times wrote about it. Not that I respect the New York Times. I call it the failing New York Times. But they did write on Jan. 20th using the word wiretap. Other people have come out with…

Carlson: Right, but you’re the president. You have the ability to gather all the evidence you want.

Trump: I do. I do. But I think that frankly we have a lot right now. And I think if you watch—if you watched the Bret Baier and what he was saying and what he was talking about and how he mentioned the word “wiretap,” you would feel very confident that you could mention the name. He mentioned it. And other people have mentioned it. But if you take a look at some of the things written about wiretapping and eavesdropping… and don’t forget I say wiretapping, those words were in quotes. That really covers—because wiretapping is pretty old-fashioned stuff—but that really covers surveillance and many other things. And nobody ever talks about the fact that it was in quotes, but that’s a very important thing. But wire tape covers a lot of different things. I think you’re going to find some very interesting items coming to the forefront over the next two weeks.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said Wednesday that he had “seen no evidence of illegality of any electronic surveillance” and that “there was no substance to the accusation that President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower.”
Holly shit tha guy is completly unhinged.
The same very paper he claimed was writting total fiction. 2 weeks previously.

    Wait theres more
spokesman for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) threatened to subpoena the Trump administration to produce evidence of Trump's claim that President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the campaign.
The White House has declined to produce this evidence publicly, offering various excuses, including the Constitution's separation of powers and — most recently on Monday — arguing that Trump wasn't speaking literally when he made the claim.
The Justice Department missed Nunes's deadline to provide evidence, which drew Nunes's subpoena threat.
“If the committee does not receive a response, the committee will ask for this information during the March 20 hearing and may resort to a compulsory process if our questions continue to go unanswered,” Nunes spokesman Jack Langer said.
Trumps spokesman Spicer is now desperately trying to weasle out of it
White House spokesman Sean Spicer tried to clarify Trump's comments Monday, saying the president wasn't using the word wiretapping literally, noting that Trump had put the term in quotation marks.
"The president used the word wiretap in quotes to mean broadly surveillance and other activities," Spicer said. He also suggested Trump wasn't accusing former President Barack Obama specifically, but instead referring to the actions of the Obama administration
    Yet he clearly did Whoops.

Lets see trumps a narcissistic buffoon that gullibly believes every conspiracy going.
He also makes outrageous and often racist statements yet can't produce facts to back them up or answer questions
Gee who would that remind me of.

Except for a few wee exceptions - you know, being a Billionaire, declaring bankruptcy and then making it all back again.

I'm still undecided on Trump - he is either incredibly Lucky (possible, but implausible) or is truly Machiavellian (possible but equally implausible)

But that's my point - celeb status only gets you so far - depending on which estimate you use each Kardishian is worth something between 50-100 Million - which is sight short of Trumps 3.7 Billion.

He's survived and what is more, Thrived in the world of Big Business - which is as cutthroat and ruthless as is legally possible. If he was some naive buffoon then he'd be much further down the pecking order - so either he's the Luckiest SoB or there is more to the Don than meets the eye.

As I said though - I am still undecided

Donald Trump received a lot of financial support from his father — in addition to a large inheritance.
His worth appears to be built on capitial gains in the New York real esate market.

He got massive loan guarantees he received from his father. If someone guarantees a loan to buy very expensive dollar building, then you can buy that building, take the equity in that building and benefit from the building's appreciation in value with very little of the downside. So you can turn a small amount of equity into a huge fortune really quickly if the building appreciates. On top of that Trump actually got loans to purchase buildings from his father, so between the loans, the loan guarantees and the inheritance it allowed him to do many things that most people can't do — to quickly buy very expensive buildings for very little money and benefit as their prices increase — growing his net worth much much more than the appreciation in the underlying real estate. As one Trump biographer puts it “all of the original deals—[Trump’s father] Fred had to come in and sign the bank documents. None of them could have been done without Fred’s signature
Some articles claim that Donald Trump's inheritance was somewhere between 40 and 200 million in 1974.
Invested in the top500 companies on the us stock exchange that adds up to 8.7 billion today.

That, is the very Big IF.

Say what you will - He clearly has taken something and turned it into More. And whilst it might not be something easy to do without a large initial capital investment - could you do the same as Trump if given the same starting cash?

The world is littered with the Offspring of Millionaires who do nothing but squander their inherited wealth as opposed to capitalising on it.
