I can agree with that.
The thing is, I don't think that's what's going on.
From what I see, they get evidence of possible wrong-doing ... and investigate. As they should.
If the impeachment investigation fails to provide evidence worthy of impeachment *, I will happily say he should not be impeached.
Heck, I can even agree right now he's (technically **) the legitimate president of the U.S.
But ... that does not mean that further evidence of other possible crimes should not be investigated.
Being innocent of one crime ... or even if one were universally "liked" ... does not make one innocent of all potential crimes.
(* Of course, even if it does, actions could by stymied by the Republicans, as they seem to love power and Trump more than their country.)
(** There was interference, so his presidency is at the very least tainted. It's a big issue for Democracy in the current World.)
