According to him, but he lives in a fantasy world. He sued a journalist who said he wasn't a billionaire. Careless of him, he had to produce evidence and of course he didn't have it. The judge asked why he lied, Trump said that was how rich he felt. He lost the case.
It might be accurate to say he feels like a billionaire. Of course he could produce his tax records and then we'd know, but he's trying very hard not do that. And therein probably lies the answer.
