There was an amusing little exchange on Twitter this morning. The Portland Press Herald received an angry message inquiring why they weren't doing anything about the riots.

The reply was to the effect,
"Because the Portland Press Herald is a newspaper in Portland, Maine."

A bit of an oversight considering the Super Bowl champions are based in Kansas City, Missouri

Then again he quoted the wrong city in a mass murder in Ohio.

If you translate from Trumpish to English:

Antifa have big money backers (ironic for a Communist organisation) and regularly bring in people from other places (predominantly Democrat controlled areas) in the country to do nefarious acts.

Given the amount of times that scenario (maybe not the plane full of Antifa members, but the more general scenario) has occurred, nothing particularly controversial here.

Perceived income disparity between wealthier areas and poorer areas leads to an increase in Crime. See - South Africa, London etc. Again, not exactly anything new despite what a single study may say (and you'll forgive me for thinking it's been both Cherry Picked and doesn't address the specific scenario Trump was referring to)

People in high-pressure situations make mistakes - Again, nothing really here that's controversial. Is it a comparison I would choose to use? Well, I can't stand Golf, so no.

This is odd even for Trump. There is no truth to this story whatsoever.

On Fox he said he couldn't comment because it was 'under investigation' which is bollocks. The story originated from a RWNJ some time back but it did cause some consternation in the town named as the destination. The local Sheriff looked into it and issued a statement to the effect there was no truth to the story.

So now, months later, Trump trots it out as current fact.

What is interesting about the whole current situation is that trump still has a very real chance of a second term.
And I don't really give a fuck personally but they would struggle to find someone worse! I am interested to see if there is a shitshow if he does get ousted and refuses to leave the white house. Now that will be entertainment plus!
