    Seemed like a nice guy.
Had a few beers with him years ago at the West Coast Sportsman of the year dinner, when it was still a no women allowed function. Still got his name tag somewhere amongst all my crap.

    RIP.

Most people don't know he was first picked for NZ actually as a bowler who batted. His back got buggered when they over bowled him in a test in the subcontinent.
He was one of the few batsman that the Aussies actually feared.

Bit of Decorum there Akz, he wasn't a bloody mongrel, he was one of our few bloody good barstards. RIP Martin Crowe and thanks for allowing all of NZ to see our Cricketers beat those bloody Ozzies.

I prefer watching paint dry or grass grow to to cricket, but I had a lot of respect for this guy.

    yeah sorry. Nah.

ONE guy dies of cancer and it's fucken news because he threw his pink balls around and stood in a fucken paddock waiting for something to happen??

Check your local oncology ward people.... The obituaries in the paper today...
Nothing against the man, he might have been more than a fudgepacking cricketer, but there's people dyin all the damn time,

You might make the news one day for one of those " and today a man was found dead in his home. According to the Police he had been dead for many years"
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

in a way i agree with Akzle every time some sportsman carks it its like they walked on water, just look at the recent departed rugby players who will be getting lined up for sainthood, lots of people die of cancer who were just as deserving of all the accolades but because thew were normal joes and not professional sportsmen they never get a mention

So what should they have on the news then? Some pc bullshit like "today a famous sportsperson died, as did other non famous non gender ,race, religion, sexual orientation, disability both mental and physical specific, people who possibly participated in sporting type recreational activities but didn't necessarily excel, but are just as important anyway"
