    Ouch!!!!

From the above post in Christchurch the S21 are:

    for 180/55R17 & 120/70R17 ( Cash and carry)

    Avoncity Suzuki - 459
    Budget motorcycle spares - 588
    Traction - 537
    Norjos' - 599

You'll have a 190 at least on the back I presume.

Thought of the Rosso III if you like your Pirellis? For road use I reckon you'll be happy - TM shows a pair considerably cheaper than the Corsa SP. Similar to the Bridgestone S21 (well apart from the Avon Suzuki steal).

I'm thinking the S21's are very good for the sole reason I'm seeing a lot of them on bikes and for years NZ has had a wet dream relationship with Mitchelins.

TM shows the Pilot Power 3's are priced well.

Are we not blessed for excellent rubber?

Yeah. I think I have 1k left still. Sides of front are getting low. Rear in very good condition. 4800km so far. Rear is a 200 so some choices are not there.

Boyds have the S21 in 200/55-17 for $310. Front is $205 but prices include shipping if that helps.

Go see TSS Mossy. Mid 400s for bare tyres. Well at least for my 180 rear. Taking rims in saves of course.
Don't you look at my accountant.

I just loves the S21s. A hard ride on a hot day saw some obvious graining. Be interesting to see how they go on the track next weekend, weather willing.

Do it Mossy - $800 for those Pirellis is nuts! You'll have $300 left for part of your rego .......

My rear rim is half inch wider than most so some of the price issue is 200 rear tyre so the price difference is reduced from the 180 prices due to the other 200 tyres also being dearer.
Next issue is that I do only 3k a year so that $800 equal to almost 2 years on the bike. If I was doing big km idd be forced to change.
Another factor for me is the tyre weight and the pir is 1kg lighter than all the other brands and front is about the same as others. Plus I would be going from a known handling performance which is superb to unknown assuming some tyres don't suit some bikes.

Next is that I can put the used rear on my track bike each time they get replaced and have 3 good track days from them.

I guess when I get it back from the shop after another warranty claim ill see what money is in my pocket at change over. havent even ridden it this year so the existing tyres are not wearing out.

Note. Dont hit me with the part time rider stuff. Im on the other bike a lot and its tyres last 25k.

That's a fair bit cheaper. Gives me an option.

Jay L at the bike shop has recommended either staying on sp or getting RS10s as a replacement if I want to keep the performance I already have.

Ah - what's in in for this time. Ypu know you can't claim tyre wear under your warranty!

Just no brakes again and steering damper let the oil out.

Nah its claim 8 I think. Back brakes might be 5th or 6th time. New master cylinder might fix it. I think the parts are on the way but its hard to tell.

Brembo fancy monobloc units and radial master cylinder (front anyway) on that beast surely? And the damper - Ohlins?

crc damper. Only the rr version has ohlins electronic damper. Nissan front master and brembo brakes but front is all good.
Rear brake issues failing every 700km ends up full of air. Brembo rear master in a very hot location.
