    Larry La Prise

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry La Prise, the man who wrote the 'Hokey Pokey' died peacefully! at age 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in, and then the trouble started.

SHUT UP. You know its funny, now pass it along.

Glad to see you get the joke. Some of the younger ones might not quite understand.

True, I would say that they would have only been toddlers when it was popular, so the joke would've gone *over their heads*!

    Funny indeed

It would be interesting to know what minimum accumulation of years is required to get it.

    (I get it: but I'm a crusty 26 YO)

    Any true youngsters get it?

    Excellent!

I'm a little out of touch with what they're making the kiddies sing at primary school these days...there must still be a few old favourites doing the rounds...

My boy's are age's 2 and 3 I went to pick them up from daycare one day and here were the teachers teaching the little kids (as young as one year) the hokey pokey. So it just goes to show the oldies never die out. Either that or you're never too young to learn to put ya left leg in and shake it all about.

Just a note, I'm only a year older than Phurrball and I got the joke.
