Not quite right Bro. Even an MR2A has a limited lifespan. And fuck me...what a thread. The OP would be crying his eyes out if he wasn't given a bike, and is still doing so when he was. I've sent a bike out on a test ride and forgotten to attach a *D Plate*, the guy picked up a $400.00 ticket. I paid it, and by that, I mean personally. If I hadn't have, my boss would've. But it was my bad...I get to pay.

I hope you guys can see why more and more dealerships will simply say they haven't got one avail eh. Hardly worth the hassle, shit slinging and gen crap you get, when genuinely trying to help someone out.

Nooooo, we're going to complain about getting loaners... then complain when we can't get loaners

Wow, some twats are really affected by fake internet points.

    Twat.

edit: I can't even get my head around your point - someone rightly complains that they were given an illegal bike as a loaner, and somehow it's the complainants fault that bikes can't offer legal loaner bikes? Wellington logic, eh?

The dealer didn't "forget" to attach a D plate. He forgot to get his paperwork in order, and for a long time at that.

In any case, a D plate doesn't cover a courtesy bike. Sure, the guy might have said "just say you're on a test ride" if you get pulled over and I would have been "no worrie".

I wouldn't be "crying my eyes out not to get a bike" but I would be annoyed. I had booked the service 2 weeks in advance and also booked a loan bike as I needed to get to work. Come the service, "oh shit, we're out of loaners - no worries, sales will sort you out with something".

I freely accept it was my job to check WOF and REG. But then again, I'd not long ago bought a bike from, and therefore built a relationship with, the salesman who lent my the bike. I'm not gonna go "cheers for the bike, just give me 5mins to double check you haven't been a lazy knob and forgotten to do your paperwork?".

I think unneedingly irredundant terms will be, irregardlessly, unheeded.

Didn't say anything about a d plate as to your particular loaner. I'm quite aware of what they cover and don't.

But seeing as you had booked a loaner, then for sure they should've had one ready. Bet it was a case of left hand not knowing what the right hand said.

Glad to see you weren't penalised as a result of this.

I had a ticket (in the UK) for speeding in a hired van - I was travelling at 55mph in a 60mph zone. apparently, the size van I was driving is limited to 50mph in those areas... I had no idea. And given that minutes before I was being 'pushed', while at 55-56mph, by a 40+ ton articulated lorry, I'd not given it a second thought.
Sadly the officer who stopped me subscribed to the 'ignorance is no excuse' school of thought. Oh well. My bad. One of those suck-it-up and learn from it scenarios.

Does seem a little odd that a well-known dealer would let the bike off the forecourt without up to date paperwork, though. I nearly got caught in a similar situation after an accident, when I found a loan car had rego expiring the following day. The garage hadn't noticed, so this sort of thing m,ay well not be uncommon. It's up to us to check, of course.
