    Tyre size question

    Just a quick question
What's the difference between a 180/55-ZR17 and a 180/55-17. would they still fit on the same bike?
    Cheers

Im not sure but I think its Speed rating then tyre design.....So ZR is

    Z speed rated to 150mph

R is a Radial made tyre.

Im sure someone else on here will confirm or correct.

The Z is the important factor...... Speed rating. Unmarked is most likely only H rated

    The link explains it

Physically, you're looking at the numbers, so yes, they're identical. Letters (as also mentioned above) amongst many things can be speed rating and notation for radial etc.

The only thing to add is that the total width of a tyre varies across different brands. The OEM Dunlop D214 190 section tyre on my was 197 mm across its maximum width. The 190 section PR4 which I currently have on it is almost exactly 180 mm.
