    That stuffed it, completely

Sat March 5th I was hit by a car that swerved across the road into my lane. Hit him almost head on at roughly 80km/h . Bike is a total loss and so is my leg, amputated that day.

    Please, be careful out there.

WOW - talk about bad news. Terribly sorry to hear of your injury. I'm not going to offer anything facile by way of encouragement etc but the fact you posted this indicates some level of coping (I hope). I doubt theres anything I can do to help but I wish there was...

Life sucks in so many ways and can be so unfair as you found out.

I hope your recovery is swift and you can get back riding again.

And keep us KBers posted on your progress huh?

Personal message as per rep system. I hope this guy can give you some inspiration. http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/popu...alan-kempster/
I have competed in Australia at the same events as him. The bugger makes it look easy, & is so quick that some spoiled sport Aussie actually protested him for cheating that thought he was too light as a result of the amputations.

Very sorry to read this mate. Hope the recovery goes as well as it can, and that you keep riding when you're up to it. I've had quite a few customers over the years that have lost one...most come back to it when they can!

    All the best mate.

    Pete

Hits harder when It happens to someone in the mix. I met an elderly chap in Hamilton who lost a leg down in the Catlins from a motorbike accident. At that time he was determined to get onto a trike. I have no idea how I would come back from such a tragedy.

    Wishing you all the best.
