A cousin in Aussie lost his leg 10 years ago, insurance has seen him and his family right, whereas those without insurance seems to struggle a bit when it comes to getting the right spec'd prosthetic leg, and their attitude in general. When he use to go to the clinic in the early days it was all doom and gloom from those without insurance, nothing was ever going to be right, he found that a difficult thing to deal with. One of his early fittings cost $32K and he only wore it twice. What he has now is amazing and (like 5ive said ) he walks around like everyone else to honest. He was quicker than me around the supermarket and he was pushing the trolley.

Tawera Nikau is an inspiration on this subject.

One of the cricket teams we used to come up against had a guy with one leg. Didn't worry about using a batting pad on his falsie. Just the oddest thing watching a guy with a padded back leg but nothing on the front. Never seemd to affect his batting either. There was just this odd 'ding' though when the bowler did manage to hit his prosthetic.

Shouldn't slow you down. Just makes things different.

Bugger. Not the best of news, but you sound to be taking it on the chin and hopefully looking at the good side (or the less shitty side).

But I guess you have to look forward to saving heaps of $$'s on socks?

A lot of us regular KBers from years ago don't come on here much. Then you log on and read this opening thread from a long timer. . First few seconds I thought it was a piss take post. Sad news in deed buddy.

As posted earlier, there but for the grace of God go the rest of us. Could be any one of us any day.

Wishing you the best recover possible and do your best to keep your spirits up.
