That instantly have me the mental image of when I had a broken foot and had to lay them on the ground and hop into my undies.

Sucks mate. Sorry I am late to the thread, but I was talking to Caseye yesterday and he told me about it so I looked you up. You'll go through the gamut of emotions for a while, so ride it out and give yourself time. Whenever you get a setback, know it's normal and you will keep progressing forwards.

He's progressing, if you make friends with Fiona on Facebook, (or me), you can keep up to date. He gets his trachy out today, so will be able to talk, and that's what everyone's worried about... LOL!

He still has times he doesn't recognise Fiona and the kids, but that will improve too.

I do understand, I was similar after my accident last 2010 when I smashed up my back. But you will get down from time to time. Frustration, probably in your case...

So.....what a fucken mission navigating Ponsonby footpaths on a wheelchair. Fuck me, kerbs are not wheelchair friendly, got stuck in the middle of the road and couldnt mount the kerb. Some good citizen helped me after about half a dozen failed attempts, seems the cars dont like the holdup, apparently tooting the horn should be encouragement enough to try harder.

Have to be in Auckland for appointments, thought i would make a weekend of it.....

learning all the time, need a lighter wheelchair, loaded .3030 in a rod holder on the existing chair to discourage tooting and encourage helping lol
