    cbr250r frame, what motor?

hey guys, i have a cbr250r mc17 frame kicking around, anyone know off hand what motors would bolt in to it? have all the other bits to make it work, throttle cables, tyres, brakes etc, basically the bikes complete (but in bits) and no motor...

or should i find an fxr150? prefer something that hasnt already been hacked up into a bucket, as building em im sure is half the fun.

or are there any recommendations on what bike to build a bucket from (i know, fxr150 = baws) but am looking at options for 100cc, 125s etc.

also, with the prevalance of the "thumpstar" 125cc pit bikes, is there any point looking at one of these for a motor / parts?

    cheers!!!

Nothing other than CBR250 engines will just bolt in.
But as its for a bucket the easiest, competitive options are CBR150 or FXR150 or TF125. or if on a budget some sort of Chinese 150 lochin etc.

was looking at those tf125 mudbugs, arent they horrendously underpowered? would imagine they need a lot of work to get em competitive....

might just keep hunting for an fxr150...

got my other cbr250 thats just had a motor swap done on it, should really get that running and flick it off to fund the bucket... hahaha think the flatmates might get a bit annoyed with a 4th bike here...

Not really, some welding skills, a bit of light machining and some nous.

Cbr250 should fit in with minimal mods and be competitive straight off. Just.

FXR150 or any of the current 150 4T's are a good bet and minimal work.
