    164,729 miles 263,566 kilometres

for all those Isle of Man TT knockers, to date, before the final race day this is the at pace miles/kilometers that have been covered. 3087 practice laps and 1279 racing ones.
people say its the most dangerous track in the world, the event lasts two weeks with 600 competitors out there so statistically this is food for thought.

That's a little over 1 death per 10,000 kilometers. Wonder how that compares to circuit bike racing. I imagine pretty poorly if you added up all the circuit racing from around the world.

Just crunched some numbers for comparison.

If a GP bike does 150 (very conservative number) laps in a weekend of an event, on an average track length of 4km. There are 22 bikes on the grid, and 16 rounds in a season. That's 211,200km traveled in one season.

I'm not knocking the tt. More power to anyone who wants to race it, they manage the risks with full knowledge.

Why are you deciding it by 10,000? I don't understand what you're working out.

K's traveled devided by deaths equals 958.4218181818ks per death

really, then your comparison of a full season of gp racing compared with over 100 years of TT races is a little further apart than apples and oranges!

Not really if you add the other classes of GP to its k's per year, it destroys the tt.
