    Get over yourself Zed.

My quote from the bible was intended to be humorous... You've got a pathetic horn on your bike but at least your god has got a decent one...

Given your obvious interest in the bible I thought that this may have amused you. No hard feelings and all that... It looks like I called that one wrong.

    Zed,, Zed,, Zed!,,,,

    Course you should stay!
You have come up with some interesting thoughts/threads.

And as far as quoting scripture goes,, I don't see a problem with it in the thread that was obviously aimed at Christain riders, (thou highjacked a little by those with nothing better to do! :spudbooge ). But, What did you expect! ?

I feel, you are a little quick to "Bite back" at these guys. :spudwhat:

And Hitchers scripture reply was obviously just to be humourous! Get over it!

Yes, its not necessary that some have attacked you personally,, But you set yourself up for it. Even this "Should I stay" thread is a bit lame. Harden up!

Come out on a KB ride or something and show us your faith in action, rather that throw scripture around and get annoyed at peoples responses.

Ok! Time for a GROUP HUG!

    Racey.

Zed, just turn the other cheek Agree with most of the above. There are a few people that respond very personally (or it appears that way) and are always dangling the hook to see who bites. Not much different to the real world really. If you feel personally insulted or got at, why not PM the person and see if you can sort things out privately one on one, rather than in a public forum?

Have a look and see how much stick WKID the bikeless receives, does he go? (and a few have pointedly asked why he still lingers).

Geez - If I left everytime someone disagreed with my POV - I would have left AGES ago. Stick it out man - I say stuff on here just to get peoples reactions - and it works....I had some of the longest threads until your GOD one.

As for why I am here - because I am still a biker at heart and will own another bike.....in fact this may shortly come to a reality (track only - more news later).

Stay man.....nothing quite like controversy to get this board rocking. Shit man - keep it up. Don't take my responses personally - as they were only intended to play devils advocate, and not aimed at you per se.

I agree with everyone elses comments.

Mitch - you in Wellington now? saw the light finally.....and came to a real city (wait for it!)

Zed I don't care whether you stay or not but if you say things that to me look like they need a reply, then I will reply. I'm an engineer by qualification and always look at things from a logical practical point of view. If you tell me stuff that God is supposed to be saying as his word then I'm thinking have you ever heard him speak these words or just that someone else told you that. Similarly if the words don't make a lot of sense then I will say so. Respect for others comes from your own beliefs about how you yourself want to be treated, I don't need someone telling me that some other person has passed on some word from some God as to what we should believe. I mentioned on one of the earlier posts the majority of people on this earth are not christians so are they all so wrong? Countries seem to get along OK without such, as an example China.

For me the point would be I have through my life rubbed shoulders with a few religious people and have never found any I could say I liked that much. They always seemed to be uptight and aggressive people that didn't treat the people around them that well whether it be those I knew at Uni or working people afterwards. Maybe there are some here that can prove me wrong but that so far has been my experience.

If we were to meet you in person would conversation deteriorate just as rapidly as postings have here and would you be the sort of person we would walk away from at a party to find someone more interesting to talk to once we got sick of the babble? Just asking the question. There are people who are fun to be with and those that are not and that feeling is personal to each individual and what kind of group they hang out in.

We are here to talk about bikes I thought without too much baggage attached.
    Cheers

    Merv

    Your beliefs-god,church etc.
others beliefs- they don't like you.

Therefore i have come to the conclusion that if you keep your beliefs to yourself, others won't bombard you with theirs and everyone will be happy.

Personally I don't mind you, or them. I even wen't to church once or twice but i also say things like " fuck off" alot as well.
    Luv it!

C'mon guys I just think you should ALL build a bridge & get over it! I think people should be "allowed" to have a spirited debate - gettin' personal is a bit childish really. I have only very briefly looked in on the thread that started all this and just though "Oh well not my thing so I'm not gonna bother commenting."

Some of the things posted on this site are not what I'm into me but I just don't read them b/c I know that the diversity of people on this site is HUGE.

The thing we all have in common is a passion for riding.

Any other passions be it God, porn, women in tight tops, men in tight pants is just someones opinion - CHILL!
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

    Be strong bro, stay.

Tho I personally / generally prefer to view threads about bikes not God (and things related to such) I think you have started off brilliantly. 'tis a very opinionated group, and you did well to spark off a very entertaining debate so early, a thread which went a lot deeper than simply about the subject of religion itself. Well done.

It used to be that you didn't discuss politics, money or religion. Without politics or money many people wouldn't have anything to talk about. But religion still gets a lot of backs up. If you keep quoting scripture like some hillbilly snake handler, you will get a reaction. If you must spread the word, go door to door.

You seem to have ommitted the options
    Stay but harden up.
Stay But be less judgmental... unless you want a reaction.

Keep in mind that all wars have strarted over:
    Religion,
    Principles,
    Women,
    Pride,
    Money.
according to my old history teacher in that order.

Meh.... up to you, but i think you must realise by now that most people arnt liking your preaching and constant referral to the bibel.... just cut that out and i think you should be just fine here

All i can say is if i was preaching about my beliefs on here, every religious person would be kicking down my door.... i dont want to offend.... so i keep quiet. Everyone has there own beliefs, if you want to know about mine ill be more than happy to discuss it with you.... but only if you ask me too.

As wikid said... if we were all to leave everytime something like this happend, none of would be here

    Start a fresh i say

    Welcome Zed :-P

Zed, by all means stay and realise what is here and how you can fit in. As a christian myself, I'm of the mind (hey, I may be wrong) that people respond better to my views on life if I take the time to know theirs. Given the reactions you've got and made to all thats happened in the last 10 days, maybe there's something appropriate about that when in this forum.

Merv, as for china, I'm gonna disagree with you there. That is one screwed up country right now (economics, freedom, politics...) that needs help.

Lou, the idea of door to door freaks me out and tends to go at odds with my 'get to know the other person first' methodology. I don't know any christians that have been approached this way and made a decision for God because of it.

When you get right down to it we are a warm friendly bunch aren't we.

Just like children - push the limits, push the limits, oops back off, LEARN, push the limits, push the limits oops back off, etc, etc.

And remember that when on a web site read everything with a kilo of salt, as a grain of salt sometimes just doesn't cut it.

Stay and contribute, meet out ridicule, and a bit of scorn if you are so inclined.

    Mike

PS Wkid - you're getting soft, must be missing the bike already
