Another point that seems to have slipped by a few students... Petrol tax is going up AGAIN on April 1 - part of our Kyoto payments to the Russian Mafia (who were supposed to pay us as I recall). Sooooo how will interest free loan (ha - it'll never happen) make up for spending all that extra moeny on petrol.

I have a student loan myself, and I think we'd be better off if the average student was taught something about managing money and dealing with an investment they've made. The interest on student loans is fuck all! (I agree with no interest while studying). The thing that really gets me cranky are the people who fuck around at uni, chopping and changing the courses then having a whinge when they owe X amount.

With a no interest deal, people will think even LESS about the responsibilities in taking out a student loan - She'll be right mate.
