WEll I know I can just make it to Springs if I full up leaving CHCH, normally top up at Murchison, full up in Nelson. This time I stop in Blenheim for a top-up, same at Kiaks, and probably Amberly/Culverdon on the way back. When I did my last trip up there by the time I got to Springs it was about 7pm and the servo was shut! Luckily I found they have 24hr eftpos pumps there aye!?!

Eeeeeexcellent. Looks like Bren will only be doing part of the ride, so Sniper you would have the chance to opt out of the full loop on the day if you wanted.
I just wonder if we'd be better to go the other way around? The East Coast gets pretty chilly late afternoon, but would be sunny early morning.
MrsB thinks I'm nuts organising this so far inadvance. Perhaps she's right, but dontcha just feel the buzz building up everytime you think about a big ride? I do.

I'm only gana do about 400k max... u lot to hard for me and so is my seat! i suspect if i do anymore i wont enjoy it, u know what it likes old war wounds etc, knee's, ankle, back, shoulder, wrist... blimey the list goes on!

Fair enough Bren. So depending on direction it'll either be Kaikora and back or Springs Junction and back? Still a decent ride. And Stu, FFS don't feel like not doing the full loop is piking out. I'm willing to bet you'll still have a sore knee by next Thursday- just see how you get on eh?

Can i borrow your blade you softie... i picked up my old fireblade in picton and rode it to invercargill in one day.. and that was after a 12hr night shift... mind you i was suppose to stay the night in blenheim... but i had such a stupid grin on my face (first ride on a blade does that to ya), and there was no way i was gonna get of that thing.. so i thought.. stop at the next town, na, the next one,, and so on... and before you know it I was in Invervegas...yo
