most of the replies had me nearly rolling around the floor laughing !!!

but like i said... if i was in her postion (sp??)
i wouldn't bother telling anyone... who would care... i mean when i was in mexico no-one new i was even out of the states!!!!
what if i had broken my leg, gotten an evil sickness..??
who would want to know?...apart from the travel insurance copany..( but i suppose they wouldn't want to know .. hahaha)

What I would have done is replied back with a text saying:

"Thanks I will inform our son that you are having a operation, please advise when it is all over so I can tell our son you have survived it"
