Sunny day, bbq style gathering works for me. If there's alcomahol, then less riding is more betterer.

For those of you who missed out last time, Paul in NZ held a kb bbq at his place in Raumati, and it went very well. Cheers Paul!

    Cheap suits me.

Say a BBQ a shortish distance away (Palmy/Masterston/Alfredton) way? That way the Napier and Wanganui people don't have too far to go either.

    Don't *really* care...

I'm keen to travel to something Wellington way. No ones discussed what the likely date would be. Sunday 18th has the KB trackday and also the Second round of the nationals on at Manfeild.

Lots of good rides around Manawatu Rangatiki. But I suppose 2 hours ride up here and then a 2-3 hour ride followed by another 2 back to Wellington may be a bit to much for latte sipping internet surfing weekend bikers. And roughing it out overnight would be just silly.

    Xmas

I could guarantee at least 3 from the naki if it was Wanganui - Manfield - Turangi general area.

You could always go to somewhere like Rivervalley, just north of Taihape.

    http://www.rivervalley.co.nz/bookings/default.asp?cid=6

The link shows their prices, $20 for a dorm bed. (Students Prices!!!)
We could do an overnighter, meaning a good long ride followed by alchohol , sleep, more socialising and a good long ride again the next day. Maybe arrange a orienteering rally up there, groups arranged by bike make!
This could draw alot of KBers from all over as this is very central.

Good try Dafe.. No ones biting but I thinks it's a swell idea...

Folks. Due to an overwhelming lack of interest I'm parking this for now. Not to say some keen person can't do summat though!

    Cheers

May cost abit more, but bound to be an awesome days outing! One the partners will love too. Money well spent I'd say. Does anybody know if the bikes cost the same as a passenger still?

Try this for my timetable: 7am sailing, arrives picton 10am. Ride into Nelson at Midday. Depart Nelson at 1.30 arriving blenheim at 3.30, Leave Blenheim 4.30 arriving picton by 5.30 for a 6-7 sailing depending on whether we play miniput!

The ride to Nelson thing may bring in a few of us from the Mainland. Just a thought.

I thought that we were talking about a Christmas/New Year event, not a rally?

Well I like the sound of a ride down south, I'm keen. I know it costs a bit, but it would be worth it to see a bit of different scenery whizzing past lol. I just checked the net for bookings etc its about $69 each way, and about $108 each way for two up. but if we had enough people we could do a group booking and maybe get a discount???? Anyway just thought it sounded like a good ride

Some clever clogs might turn this into a poll or something but I'd like to get peoples opinion on what you would like to do this year?

We are happy to host it again at Raumati BUT perhaps you folks rather do something else or go someplace closer to town? Maybe lunch time ride to a domain and set up a BBQ (QE2 Plark) or summat. Go to a cafe for a fixed menu, pub, I dunno.... Massed xmas ride down Courtenay Place? Maybe even have a joint wellie / auckland one in the middle of the island...

    Your thoughts please.....

ps - anyone else wants to step up and do this, feel free..... I'll even help...
Brilliant idea Paul! Haven't got any ideas at present but I'm keen as to assist and of course be there!
