Checked the fuses? I swore that the fuses were fine on my bike, until I was proven wrong.

Good luck with the wiring diagram, I don't think one exists. :O
Find an FZR400 manual, it's fairly similar or talk to some of the kiwibikers. Ixion seems to know what he's on about.

    wiring diagram

thanks for that but i've tried a number of search engines, i'll keep on trying to find the problem or a wiring diagram to diagnose the problem. nah i made sure to check the fuses even though they looked fine and found they weren't the problem. the reason i put a post on here is i read a story and their fzr250 had died and i thought they'd said they had a wiring diagram. someone might still reply that has one. i might try the fzr 400 wiring diagram see if that helps at all.

    wiring diagram

yeah i tried heaps of sites some have mentions of manuals but most people don't have them, or as in one case i've found, have a version in japanese. i traced the problem down and found the problem it seems to have been a burnt out wire or the copper wire inside the plactic has broken, on the surface it looks fine, but no current flows through it, so i replaced the wire and the bike fired into life. i'm still on a mission to find a wiring diagram because i'm sure not to be the last with wiring problems on this kind of bike. thanks for all the suggestions if i find a wiring diagram ill try post it directly on this site (if possible), but my chances of finding a digital copy aren't good.

With a bike of that age, you may have a big mission to find a wiring diagram in English.
