    Yamaha MT03 2016, throttle suppressor?

I have bought a new MT03 for commuting and fun, the demo R3 i tried has the same engine however my new Mt03 feels somewhat suppressed?
I know it only has a 321cc but does anone know if this model has some sort of throttle dampener to make it LAMS approved? and can i get rid of it easily?

Have you finished the break-in period yet? The engine doesn't really get going until above 7000 rpm so if you're still breaking it in it is bound to feel muted.

Same engine doesn't always make it same tune. Could have different cams, ecu, injectors, airbox etc.
Did you ask about the differences between the 2 bikes performance before buying the MT03

Also if you get used to the power you loose the feeling of said power. Does it feel less powerful because you run it in and got used to the bike gradually.
maybe you should go back and try the R3 again to see if you still think its got more pep.

yes i have done the first 1000km and it has had its first service, and it is up to 1600km now so i can start revving it more. the dealer mentioned an aftermarket exhaust might make it more responsive but i wasnt quite sure how to ask about throttle as they may disapprove of that sort of tinkering,

yea the dealer did mention they were set up a bit different and you are very right about getting used to power, compared to my old Honda the MT03 is surprisingly nippy! I have tried to stay away from bigger bikes mainly because i am such a cheapskate but maybe an MT07 might be a good tradeup,

If you went back and tried the r3 you may find its not any more powerful you just started out slow on the mt03 slowly and worked your way up in skill riding it not realising it. Only way to tell would be ride a r3 again and now compare. It could be a gear ratio difference also or even just different sprockets.
Even a different ecu tune may have the r3 develop more power up top making it feel peaky while the mt03 is a more even power curve sacrificing a couple hp at the top of the rev range.

Even your body position changes your perception of power dramatically.
