GSXXR250 feels like its fuel starving

Hey guys, so I recently bought a cheap GSXR250 as a run about / project and Ive got it running but its constantly feels.. Sick.

It won't rev cleanly, sometimes it will bog off the line and its got absolutely no top end power.

It seems to have good spark and Ive replaced the plugs, the filter is a mess but Ive tried with and without.

First thing I did will pull the carbs apart and blast them with carb clean and compressed air, made sure there were no leaks in the diaphrams etc etc.

Fuel seems to be streaming out of the tank with the vacuum line connected - anything Ive missed? It really does seem like its constantly running out of gas but im not sure what else to check..

Haven't checked compression but its very low km's so I would hope thats not the issue.

balance the carbs. also check (properly) for air leaks. also get someone better than you to look at the carbs.

    "the filter is a mess"

    Air filter?

If it's holed or seating badly, that's enough to throw the mixture off and lean the engine out. If in doubt, replace the thing, they're cheap enough and it's easy to do.

Also, take a look at your plugs, they'll tell you a fair bit about what's going on with the motor.
