    Scooter not running properly

I have a 2014 TGB Tapo 50cc 2-stroke that;s not running properly. It will start but to keep running I need to hold the throttle open fully, and even then it only runs at idle speed. As soon as I release the throttle it dies. I have drained the fuel, cleaned the carburetor and put new fuel in. The fuel is reaching the carb, I am getting compression and spark, air intake seems to be fine. Any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Have heard of exhausts gunking up with carbon deposits and needing to be cleaned out. 2-strokes depend on their breathing by pulses through the exhaust system, if it's getting clogged then that could be it. Maybe take the exhaust off and have a look, from the cylinder head end?

I've never cleaned a two-stroke exhaust myself so can't offer advice but there should be a vid or two on Youtube.

that would be de-coking. easiest is to biff the muffler in a good bonfire, once it's cooled to can-just-hold-with-a-welding-glove temp, smack the shit out of it with a bit of wood, while holding it end-down.

check also that your carb is not homahasexual, slipped clip, bent needley, fucked jet. and that your throttle cable is actuating through the range.

it's also likely your scoot is gay, so if you can remove whatever belt/ floss attaches the noisy bit to the little round rubber bit, that will eliminate that as a sauce of concern.

timing, too. make sure that your timing-enator is doing it's shit.

Does it run better cold (not run for 12 plus hours) than warm?

If you have a look the carb end of the throttle cable is it slack?
If you run the grip through the full range of motion does the lever at the carb do the same?

No, same whether it'c warm or cold. There is quite a bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust as well as a few spots of black liquid...

    Pull your spark plug.
    Is it clean?
Sounds like you have not enough air or spark for the fuel.
    2 banger or 4 banger?
4 banger: When was the oil last changed?
Both, do you have any pipes or hoses not connected?

Is there any play in your throttle cable?
When my PGO had similar symptoms the cable had just slipped enough that the auto choke never clicked off.

2 stroke. Plug is little bit dirty, but wet and is sparking just fine. Have checked and as far as I cna see all pipes are connected. Took the air filter out and tried running without it (to check if filter blocked) but same result. No play in throttle cable
