    Decisions, decisions

We have decided to buy an additional bike.

Want something more modern (current love is 1993). Heres the criteria

    • 1200cc's +
    • Fast
    • Powerful
    • Handles well (nimble)
    • Good for Sports Touring
    • Decent size pillion seat
    • Good distance gas range
    • Can spend up to $25k

Any suggestions? I am very open

Been through that recently and got a GSX1250fa for a number of reasons. But fast came after the Holeshot kit.

One to look at would be a BMW S1000xr. It will tick all the boxes apart from 25k, you may need to throw another couple of thousand in.

I would buy that as my 2up bike if I could afford it but sadly I cant.
You would need drop the 1200cc requirement.
I had a zx14r but it was ok at doing most things but only great at going very fast.

Takes the nimble away and when 750cc makes more hp than the zzr1100 not really required.
If the bikes mainly touring then fair call but the nimble is gone.

The new z1000 sports tour looks good

    You should try a CB1300.
More nimble than a lot of sub 1000cc.
Enough torque to grab the wrong gear.
    Reliable as anything.

Having owned several Busa's and ZX14's, go the 14 for a good all round sports tourer. Every time I head out for a ride, its a grin fest and disappointing to park it up. The Busa is a great bike also but only a mother can love those looks!!

It ain't the shape. It's the tacky factory paint jobs most come with.

It's the shape - they try to hide it with tacky factory paint jobs.

Next model will be interesting. Will they change it? I say yes - a big physical change and it will be proclaimed as the new busa.

Just think of the flat Yammy V-max sales for the new model - too much like the old one.
