    Tyre recommendations for front?

    Ello,

Put a new rear on the RF oem is a 170 and went to a 180

Giant chicken strips currently due to a screwed front of which i have pushed to a level where i am comfortable with the shape it has to it, not going to dance with the reaper. Its the tyre that was on the bike when i got it and is frankly completely stuffed, still woffable tread but the shape is deadly.

So 2 questions are raised really

    1. Do i stick with the 120 front. I threw a Shinko on the rear to give it a try (bloodey good actually)

    2. What do i put on the front, i would rather something soft and grippy i'm not fussed if i chew it fast i just want it to stick.

Look you overinflated your stinko slick and it developed cracks. You should call that tread.

120 is stock size for the front. Don't change.

A world of excellent sticky tyres out there for you.

Me - I match brands (Pirelli with Pirelli etc) others don't.

Sport touring or sport - take your pick from the crop of excellent rubber available from the name brands.

    Its only about 150km old

Cant really bitch and moan when it was 190 fitted, i'll put a pirelli or something on next, old rear was so fucked i only rode it to the shop to get rid of it and went what have ya got....

Rear isn't anywhere near as important to me as a front.

Yeah i'm trying to narrow it down, looking at metzler pirelli dunlop, all around the same price so was curious as to which people preferred

I've had good runs out of S20 (11000ks) and PP3 (12000ks currently and maybe 3000k left) for fronts if that helps, no dramas at all.

More interested in grip than longevity. if i chew it out in 4,000km i'm not fussed, with how hard i ride all i care about is grip

How did you find them for stickability?

needs to be planted at 260+

Both are track orientated, very sticky on the road, Drew probably still has S20 on his RF, they are probably perishing now. If you lose either of these on the road you should question your riding.

Cycletreads have a blurb on most of the quality tires. Even a PR4 touring tyre should be sure footed on the road. Soft sticky tyres can work against you if the are not ridden hot enough. The worn rubber shreds may not be flicked off and smother the tyre causing it to slip, and the tyre gets the blame, when in reality the rider isn't up to it.

If you wanna be planted at 260+ you should chuck the stinko away get a set of DIABLO SUPERCORSA SP set plus upgrade your rf suspension. 260plus may require work on your motor also.
If your front rim is 3.5inch use 120 tire

Where you going to be doing 260plus on a RF? I thought an RF was a heavier bike so you would stick to touring tyres as you would have good heat transfer.

That's likely the most suited set for your bike and what I would run.
