Quads would surely come under the "recreational driving or driving for the pleasure of driving is not allowed..." restriction. To specify "all two wheel motorbikes" is just arse covering because we all know motorcyclists whose mission in life is to act out their special exemption from following any type of rules

    Public beaches..?

    What a fuckin joke.

Horse trainers use those "public beaches" as their own private racetracks..

They don't like the dogs and bikes..
    and the council duly obliges.

    "Motorbikes on the beach

Two wheel motorbikes are prohibited from all beaches and dunes along the Northern Pegasus Bay Coastal strip. Quad bikes are permitted to drive on the beach as they are classified as a motor vehicle. They must be legal to drive on the road."

    Lol at "two wheeled motorbikes"

Its a wheelist policy. My motorbike is a legal vehicle, it is registered and warranted. Faggots.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

A quick read and it seems you prob could still take your road registered motorbike as the quad bit kinda implies they are really just banning full on motocross and beach hack bikes.
One of our advocacy groups needs to whip their arse in court... surely its beyond their powers.
All I could find under legislation is... (b)
close any road to traffic or any specified type of traffic (including pedestrian traffic) on a temporary basis in accordance with that schedule and impose or permit the imposition of charges as provided for in that schedule.

•Recreational driving is not permitted on any area of the Northern Pegasus Bay coastal strip. Access from the north to the Ashley/Rakahuri Estuary is only for the purpose of boat launching or retrieval, fishing, white baiting and mahinga kai gathering. Access from the Waimakariri Mouth to the Ocean Outfall is for the above purposes as well as taking recreation equipment to the water's edge

Ok so put a handline in your glovebox and dip the hook in water and your compliant there....
