    But his weather forecasting wasn't accurate! In a country like NZ with weather cycles in the days any prediction will seem accurate if you allow enough margin for error. Like he'd say it's going to rain on Wednesday in 4 months time, and it would rain on Friday and he'd say "look I was only two days out". Well yeah it was bound to rain one day that week and three days is about the most he could be out. He was a charlatan, but he was badly treated by Campbell.

    The moon man deserved everything he got, claiming to have predicted the earthquakes and then forecasting specific dates for future earthquakes.

    All it did was cause already stressed people to get more stressed, and in some cases spend money they didn't have to leave to town to avoid earthquakes that didn't happen.

    Same as his earthquake prediction. Predicting in Christchurch where we were having thousands of the fucking things was not exactly hard.
